What to do in Byron Bay...
On the doorstep of the Northern Rivers region with its rainforests, many small villages and picturesque countryside Byron Bay boasts some of the best surf breaks in the world and some of the prettiest and cleanest beaches on the East Coast of Australia. Cape Byron is the Australian mainland’s most easterly point.
There is a wide variety of options for things to do to immerse yourself in Byron Bay and Solaris is located within walking distance to some of Byron's best attractions. Start the Lighthouse walk right from your front door, learn to surf at friendly Clarkes Beach, Hangglide over Tallows, Kayak with the dolphins or Whale Watch from Cape Byron.
Other activities and attractions include, tours, cooking classes, bush walking, waterfalls, horse riding, scuba diving, golf, fishing, sky diving, circus skills and art and craft workshops.
It has one of the highest number of artists and artisans as residents in Australia and many festivals and events throughout the year including Byron Bay Bluesfest, Splendour In The Grass, The Falls Music and Arts Festival and the Byron Bay Writers Festival.
The hinterland surrounding Byron is filled with smaller farms growing produce such as macadamia nuts, coffee, blueberries, lychees, stone fruit, dairying & cheese and many other interesting crops. Many of these local crops are available direct from the growers at one of the many markets, including The Byron Farmers market each Thursday morning from 7-11am. As well as a having a great atmosphere, you can grab a coffee and breakfast here too!
The Byron regional market on the 1st Sunday of each month and Bangalow on the 4th Sunday of each month show case a diverse range of local arts and crafts.
If you are looking for relaxation Byron has a thriving health and well being industry with many day spas, yoga and meditation classes, healing and alternative health practitioners.
Shopping, entertainment and fabulous Australian cuisine in award-winning cafes and restaurants are all here too!
